  • Sign in to Yahoo Messenger. You can download it at http://messenger.yahoo.com/
    • create a Friend (buddy) List (YM)
    • explore YM tools and their features, including voice chat, by joining the moderator and other participants for chats or conferences (group chats), and reflect on their potential in TEFL/TESL.
  • Get a free office at www.tappedin.org
  • Use voice chat at www.study.com
  • Become members of the Learning Times community (LT) and explore its features.
  • Listen to a on-line conference
    or at http://www.alado.com/webheads

group work: Divide into groups and explore one tool and report back to the class
reflecting on what you have learned and how it can be applied in class. Post final thoughts at the community.

10:50 -11:40 group work:
  • Participate on session at TI Festival at www.tappedin.org
    • Session: Global Learning Communities Participants meet Linda Ullah  who will tell us about Jim Oliver Schools in Bedfordshire UK are partnering with schools in Silicon Valley CA and in New Delhi India to do collaborative projects at After School Online
  • Group Work: reflect on what you have learned and how it can be applied in class. Think about and discuss the potential of text chat for the EFL/ESL teaching and learning process (how can it be used? for what purpose? at what level?)
  • post final thoughts at the community (www.groups.yahoo.com/group/theenglishworkshop) or send an e-mail to doris3m@yahoo.com  
Assignment 3 group work: Get ready to present the class how you can use your tool. Make a short PowerPoint presentation on how to use the tool you were selected to work with. Upload it to the community.
